Orbis Connecting to our community: Backpack campaigns
and adopt-a-family

15 January 2017

Back to school can be both an exciting and nerve racking time for students. The start of a new year can mean new friends, new teachers, and a return to homework. All too often though, kids in our community are going back to school without having access to the necessary supplies that a lot of us take for granted.

We are very proud that in August 2015, the team here at Orbis took some time out from our hectic schedules to purchase and pack much-needed school supplies into backpacks for elementary school children in our community who are in need.

Working through the Start2Finish organization the Orbis team filled a number of fully stocked backpacks for local boys and girls in our community who have been identified by their teachers as being in need of a helping hand.

This initiative was driven by a local program called Start2Finish which helps equip identified students with the tools needed to help “even the playing field” and prepare them for a successful school year and beyond.

As a company that works with post-secondary institutions we know first-hand the power of an education and this is one way we can help encourage early learners to be successful and engaged in their education with the hope of a successful education future.

Orbis Communications also participated during both the 2015 and 2016

St. Matthews House Christmas adopt-a-family program. In 2015, we adopted 5 families and 5 seniors, and in 2016, 5 families and 7 seniors. Community is a important part of the Orbis corporate initiatives.

We're not around right now. But you can send us an email and we'll get back to you, as soon as we can.
